A workshop exploring the intersection of traditional oral storytelling with singing & spoken voice production.


Join master practitioners Fleur Shorthouse Hemmings & Charlotte Xerri for a day of unique, interactive sessions exploring how archetypes emerge in traditional story & vocal function.


Find & develop techniques & new skills along with useful frameworks to enhance your creative process.


This active & fun day will interest storytellers, singers, actors, teachers & anyone curious to find out how to sustain personal practice with story, song & voice.

Fleur Shorthouse Hemmings has been teaching philosophy & sharing traditional oral stories in educational & performance settings for 30yrs.

 

She holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Applied Storytelling, from The College of Storytelling, led by tradition bearer Shonaleigh Cumbers.

 

As a pioneer of Sauna Storytelling in the UK, Fleur integrates myth, ritual, leaves, herbs, aromas and other sensory elements to create immersive, communal experiences.

 

Fleur is Storyteller In Residence at UCL (University College London) School of Management 2026/7. Artist in Residence at Wild Spa Wowo, she tells regularly at Stanmer Sauna Garden in Brighton & serves as a Director for Story Commons CIC.

Charlotte Xerri As founder & director of Voice Your Potential® Ltd Charlotte Xerri produces and presents voice related training events & certification in the UK and internationally.

 

Charlotte's experience spans corporate, healthcare & education settings, including many of the major institutions across the UK. She is an associate lecturer at Chichester University Conservatoire.

 

Her career in performance, as a soloist mezzo soprano includes recital, opera, oratorio & session work, most recently playing Irene in Handel’s Theodora.

 

Building upon understanding of vocal function, Charlotte has collaborated in UK and international voice research.
