NEWÂ perspectives on TWANG & how this effects YOU!
PRESENTED BY:
Kerrie Obert, M.A., CCC-SLP
A leading expert in voice training, pedagogical practice, as a speech-language pathologist & singing voice specialist with over 25 years in clinical as well as private practice, we're exited to share this opportunity to get first hand the latest findings in research regarding the vocal mechanism, what's going on with twang & what actually may not!
After completing her M.A. in speech-language pathology at The Ohio State University (OSU), Obert joined their clinical staff performing thousands of endoscopies, collaborating in research & helped to launch the singing health specialization at OSU and served as the director of medical arts for the program.
She continues to collaborate on several research projects with the OSU Department of Otolaryngology and Speech and Hearing Science.
This course covers her groundbreaking discoveries on twang quality and tongue root.

NEWÂ perspectives on TWANG and how this effects YOU!
In this course, Ms. Obert will share her research on the ways in which brightness in the voice can be achieved.
Obert’s pioneering research suggests twang quality and ring are physiologically and acoustically distinct.
She will share her endoscopy and MRI research and train participants to recognize the differences in these sounds.
Obert’s work challenges long-standing beliefs about the involvement of the aryepiglottic sphincter in the production of twang quality, making this presentation one you will not want to miss. Â
